Course: Introduction to Glass Painting
Introduction to Glass Painting is offered over 2 Saturdays, tba, from 9:30 - 16:00 both days at the address noted below (near Den Haag).
Glass painting is painting with light. It can add a new dimension to your work as you gain the ability to add lines, create textures and shading. Painting can be used as a stand-alone technique or can become part of a process for creating glass works. Once fired in a kiln, the paint becomes permanent and the design can be further worked if desired.
We'll work with both Reusche and Oster glass paints, with different mixing techniques from traditional to modern. Both of these glass paints are produced in America to high quality standards and we've been using them for years. The best way to learn is by actually doing so we're going to be very hands-on, with several projects going at once. All materials needed for the course, including designs, glass, paints, mixing solutions, firing in the kiln as well as lunch and beverages, are included. Participants will also have the opportunity for a discount on paint purchases.
